2010 GT500 Sells for measly $150K at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach

It was business as usual at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach collector car auction although final auction values seemed to be much lower then previous years. It's really no surprise given the state of the economy and the declining collector car values as of late. Prices even soured on Ford Motor Company who sold three vehicles at this auction for charity including the first retail 2010 Shelby GT500 which sold for peanuts at $150,000. Compare that price to the first 2007 Shelby GT500 that was auctioned for $600K and I would say this auction was a bust. The other two cars Ford had at this auction included the highly sought after silver 2004 Ford Mustang concept coupe and the red 2004 Ford Mustang concept convertible which sold for $175,000 each. The two Mustang concept cars tied for fourth overall on the "Top Sales" list which saw the highest auctioned vehicle sell for only $500K.

All proceeds above MSRP from the sale of the 2010 Shelby GT500 will be donated to The Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation. The two Mustang concepts were auctioned to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Given the final numbers I don't think anybody is complaining because it was all for a good cause no matter the dollar amount.
