Roush has already unleashed its 2010 427R Mustang on the world, using much of the same architecture that made the 2009 427R popular. However, Roush always has a few different stages of their popular Mustangs, the 427R included, and you can expect that Roush won’t be content to let 2010 go by without making significant improvements.
According to The Mustang Source, the new Stage 3 427R may get a 500+ horsepower supercharged engine.
There were rumors that there would not be a Stage 3 427R for the 2010 model, and this would make sense. The 2011 Mustang is supposed to get an all new engine, so many aftermarket companies might be holding off - but not Roush. These pictures clearly depict an all out Stage 3 Roush 427R. Historically, the Stage 3 has had all the doo-dads that are optional on the Stage 1 427R, including: bodykit, upgraded interior, brake and full-suspension package.
However, this Stage 3 might get even more than that. Rumor has it that the same TVS supercharged 510 horsepower engine that's in the Roush P-51B Mustang might end up in the 427R. With forged internals and an Eaton/Roush supercharger, this is a mighty engine - one that comes with a Roush three-year, 36,000 mile warranty. But Roush is keeping hush about the Stage 3 427R, so anything is possible. At the very least, there are some good looking pictures to take a gander at. Why go through all that work, though, and not sell it?
