<div>ACT unveiled some new clutch kits on the first day of the SEMA Show today. Their new twin disc clutches were being released for the GM LS series and Mustang applications. According to ACT, they are rated at 850 foot pounds of torque and part numbers are available for both 6 and 8 bolt transmissions. <br />

In order to claim this, ACT manufactures all the components for this clutch. They start with a dynamically balanced flywheel that is bolted up to a pressure plate, that mimics the OE design but is lighter. From there, ACT adds bigger straps and induction hardens the fingers. The shims are fully adjustable, which means you can get the full life of the disc. <br />

ACT offers three different pressure plate clamp load designs that each give you the pedal feel you are looking for. In fact, if you pick up an ACT catalog, you will see that each clutch has the clamp load increase listed with its compared to stock. The solid disc design delivers what ACT claims as faster shifts with no springs to fail. <br />
