Here is the post I made a few weeks ago on the other forums:
I did not make it to SEMA this year because Rebecca's due date was last Wednesday, but I had some friends take pics of the new Afco Dual Fan GT500 heat exchanger that will be available from VMP in the coming weeks.
I've been talking to the engineers at Afco about doing this for months, they had to get some 2010 camaro stuff out of the way, but were able to overnight the first piece for display at the SEMA show. I'm suprised none of our members stumbled upon it and posted pics, though I only had time to check the tech forum.
After the past two years success of Afco's entry level heat exchanger (great performance for the price) it only made sense to step up and offer a higher end product for those wanting the ultimate in cooling.
Afco was able to incorporate a lot of features that I wanted in a GT500 heat exchanger. This unit has a 10" tall core and uses dual 10" fans, an industry first. Though I don't have the exact numbers at the moment, the dual 10" fans flow somewhere in the area of 3000CFM combined. The core technology is optimized for street and race vehicles that operate from speeds of 30mph to 120MPH+, still providing excellent cooling at lower speeds.
Retail price is slated to be only $669.
Look for a radiator solution in the future.
