September 20th marked the 13th annual Mustangs at the Queen Mary show. The show, which is California's biggest Mustang event, featured almost 400 cars. Temperatures in the high 70's, blue skies over Long Beach Harbor, and almost 400 Mustangs, including the 2010 Saleen 435S - who could ask for anything more?
According to the show's promoter, the Beach Cities Mustang Club, it was a success. There were over 100 classes and award categories in the BCMC show alone, as well as raffles, auctions, food, vendors, special displays, special guests, and even a kid's area. The 2009 Saleen Fest and the Second Annual SoCal Bullitt Nationals were a special part of the Queen Mary show.
Saleen introduced their new 2010 435S Mustang at the 2009 Saleen Fest, and it is rumored that they will introduce a new Mustang at the SEMA show in November.

The Billett Nationals featured twenty-eight cars and five classes, and was presented by The International Bullitt Owner's Club.

In attendance were Mike Shields, CEO of Saleen, and Courtney Hansen, the beautiful face of Overhaulin'. Both signed autographs and mingled with the crowd. The Saleen Club of America, Superformance, Hillbank Motorsports, Magnaflow Performance Exhaust, and NAPA Autocare Center were some of the big sponsors in attendance.
This year's show was dedicated to one-year-old Long Beach resident Kaylee Alvarez, who was killed by a drunk driver on September 11, 2009. The show and its contributors are attempting to raise $5,000 for Kaylee's family by October 5th (they are currently at $2,100).
