Do you have stock cams? Is there any kind of dirt/grease/gunk in the connector. I would try to clean the terminals inside the connector. Connector being where the sensor plugs into the wiring harness. Maybe you got a bad one from the parts store as well.

one thing that ive bn told about is if you have the cam position gear backwards it will cause the sensor to fail, or not read the gear at all!! have you recently pulled your front cover??maybe you put it on backwards,,,, thats most likely not it, but hay its always somethin stupid like that!!

Take a good look at your connectors. Sometimes when you're pushing and pulling, the pins are bent or pushed out of position. This will cause you to intermittently loose the signal and throw a code. Also could be a bad wire. Try clearing the code and see how long it takes for the code to return.

If you have checked and cleaned the connectors and it throws the code right away, you probably have a bad "new" part; unfortunately, this happens often.

i pulled his codes tonight using my tuner. i believe it was p0171 which is the lean detection code. at first i had thought it was the alarm code but i was wrong

P0171: Lean condition Bank 1

Causes: dying fuel pump, dying injectors, fuel line leaks, faulty fuel pressure reg, Dirty MAF.

What is your code? Remember if it is your Camshaft Position Sensor this indicates that a problem was detected in the camshaft position sensor circuit. Since it says circuit, that means the problem could lie in any part of the circuit - the sensor itself, the wiring, or the PCM. Don't just replace the CPS (camshaft position sensor) and think that will definitely fix it.

What are you symptoms?
Rough running / misfiring?
Hard Starting or no start?

I need more info to solve your issue...

Here are somethings you can try...
•Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit
•Check for continuity in the circuit wiring
•Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor
•Replace the camshaft position sensor as required
•Check the crankshaft position circuit as well
•Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required
•Diagnose/replace the PCM as required

the big question is... has the light came back on? if so. its probably a o2 sensor or injector dying on you.

joker remember bank 1 is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1.

sounds like the MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. And make sure you do not have any vacuum leaks downstream of the MAF sensor.. Might want to check you fuel pressure or dirty fuel filter..
