Carlsbad Meet "update"

ok here is the plan. At 9:30am at the Carlsbad Meet we will line up cars in the far back end of the lot for those going on the cruise. Once we are all together and ready to go we will roll. We will exit at the main exit in front of Starbucks and make a right onto Paseo Del Norte and head down to Cannon Rd where we will make a left. That will take us down to the coast and we will make another left on Carlsbad Blvd (this turns into 101). Shortly after we pull onto Cbad Blvd we will pull over in a turn out thats available so we can regroup and make sure everyone is with us. I suggest when we get back under way we drive the entire way down 101 doubled up in both lanes; this will allow us to keep the group together going through the lights and make the trip flow much more smoothly. There are points (like in Del Mar that it will file back down to single file) but afterwards we should get back into two rows keeping other cars from splitting us up. BEWARE in parts of the coast (especially Del Mar) there is a police pressence so drive sanely, this is not a race. I will keep the pace swift but not out of control, we have plenty of time so enjoy the scenery. We will continue all the way down to La Jolla and North Torrey Pines Rd, where we wil then get onto the I-5 South at Genessee (to try to get this many cars through La Jolla and PB will just be a zoo and we will most likely lose a bunch of people), AGAIN THIS IS NOT A RACE ONCE WE HIT THE FREEWAY. We will then proceed to Hwy 8 East, exit Mission Center Rd and make a left over the freeway. Stay in the right lane as we will be making a right onto Camino Del Reina, it is immediately on the left hand side; the first driveway.

I called Hooters today to make arrangements and they said they dont take reservations, even for 35 people, so to call Saturday when we are in route and give them the heads up then. So if last minute you decide you want to go eat with us then the more the merrier. I will just get a head count before we leave and call when we are about half way there. I was also told that the girls can come out and take pics with the cars but it is up to the manager on duty at the time. I think it should be no problem since we are going to be getting there just prior to them opening and they should be able to spare them for 5-10 minutes to pose for some pics. They have done it before. The parking lot should also be relatively empty when we get there (as it was when I was there last weekend). We will be there early so it will give everyone a little time to introduce yourselves and meet new people if you havent done so already. The doors open at 11am and we will then go in and get some grub.

Before we leave I will give my cell number to anyone who wants it in case you get seperated from the pack, as well as ask for a volunteer to take up the rear and stay in contact with me if there becomes some good distance between the front and back so we can wait up.
