Well I was taking my car out for a test drive on a cold dark sunday evening to check drivability and A/F ratios on my wideband to make sure the car would be all good for my morning commute. You see the car had not been driven for a long distance since the new 393 stroker was installed.
Well I took a short rip on the freeway close to my house and quickly got off and hopped back on to head towards home. When I got off on my exit to head home this time there was a brand new Dodge Magnum waiting for me at the light with 22's looking all pimp. The driver was staring at me as I looked over, but I played it cool since the police station in El Cajon is right there.
When the light turned green the Magnum punched it! With a little squeel of his tires he was gone! He was stopped again at the next light. As I pulled up slowly there he was again staring at me. The light turned green again and BAM! He takes off again!!!
Well he was stopped again at the next light. It was the last light before I had to turn off to go home and by now we were plenty past the police station, so I said what the hell. Lets do it! I guess he didn't notice the 351 badges on the fenders and thought this was just some 5.0 with loud mufflers?
When I pulled up to this light I was letting the car rock back and forth ever so slightly while I was riding the clutch. The light turned green and BAM!! We were off.............I took of and immediately pulled him by 1/2 car. I granny shifted into 2nd @ 4000 rpm (not wanting to break my T-5) and pulled ahead even farther! By the time I shifted to 3rd I had 2 cars on him!!! We had to slow down as my turn approached as if we were in light speed and we both turned off. As I pulled off to turn on my street he flashed his lights and kept on straight. I looked over as he passed me and he gave me a thumbs up.
Not the best kill, but it was definitely a little rush!!
