Currie Enterprises’ SEMA booth featured a 70’s Chevelle rear frame with their new F9 housing mounted in it for an impressive display. We talked with John Currie about the details of the F9 Suspension. John explained that the displayed model, “Had the ’69 to ’72 brackets on it, with two different sizes of Wilwood brakes to show the different options that the customers have.” Currie showed us the adjustable top control arms that feature a heavy duty design with a “Johnny Joint” on the housing bracket end. Currie explained that the “Johnny Joint” is a urethane encased Heim joint to allow for temporary misalignment and flexibility while retaining the cushion effect of a bushing.
The lower arms on the F9 housing featured Currie’s aluminum lower arms with a Johnny Joint on the chassis and a steel sleeve bushing on the housing end. Currie explained that this improved the strength in the lower arm.
