Hello Everyone,
I just completed the EFI 101 course and got alot of useful info about tuning. It was an awesome class, I enjoyed every minute of it. I found out that the SCT / Diablo Sport Software is cake to the more advance type software out there.. Like Motec and many others. The good thing about this course is I got some good info on how tuning is actually done.

In the class we learned about all the sensor and actuators in an EFI System.

We got to go thru alot of Formulas on how we got a certain perameters.. We also covered the myth of backpressure how engine works and exactly when timing occurs in the Cycle of an engine.

Here is some great info for some of you gear heads that like tuning yourself. Check these out PLEASE READ IT. INJECTOR INFO

While in the class we got to go over how to Dyno a couple of cars.

MoTec System installed. It bypasses the cars ECU and is live on the fly tuning. Awesome we were able to tune any cell we wanted to..

The problem with using the stock ecu and SCT/Diablo software is its alot of downtime adjusting values, loading it to the tuner, burning it to the chip. dyno testing, review the logs, start over.

On the fly ecu's ROCK. set car on dyno. open software, open throttle to a certain spot adjust values and watch your numbers change on the screen for hp/tq get it to a good set point and floor it watch your values and adjust. doit again.

same tune on stock ecu reflash takes nearly 6x as long because of minor guess work

Not anymore, All, I have to see is your datalog files and I can tune your car now.. But, I would recommend a good A/F gauge to make sure the setting are dead on.

having the tools yes makes it 1000% easier, at least wide open throttle isnt' the hard part of tuning. cruising and idle setup/warmup enrichments/throttle transitions are the hard ones

Congrats on completing the course. We will see what you can do to your own car now before we jump to conclusions. We have base numbers already on the shelby. Now tune it and make us believers!

Sounds like an awesome course. Glad you took it.

i know of a place for a shop that is a fair price if interested

nope i wont pay a dime to have anyone lean my car out which will take less then 5 minutes, if he wont do it no big deal, im not going to spend any money on a tune that will get scrapped anyways....
