Error Code

I got a P0340 error code. The car mis-fires's when it is cold, but after 10 seconds or so of idle, there's no more misfire at all. And it only does it at low-rpm.

I've been reading getting the alternator tested?

Yeah, I looked in my book and that's what it said, I swear I thought I posted -.-...

Can I drive my car up to Encinitas from San Diego still? I need to get to work...

have you checked the crank angle sensor first? some times these codes Are the reason you get them ya know?

but if that dont fix it... try the alt.

Where is the sensor at? Is it a quick swap?

i believe for us you gotta rip the face of the motor off. i think its just behind the front cover.

I'd pull the connector, and clean it out...see if anything changes

Sounds like I'll be waiting until friday then. I'll get the alternator tested tomorrow first since that's easier to access..

pulling the front cover is not easy... gotta pull off all the accesorys, crank pully, new gaskets for the cover, plus to access half the **** its easier if you have the Rad removied.

The battery died at the car wash... So I'm thinking maybe it is the alternator...

did you spray under the hood to clean it if so i say its water in the plug holes had that happen to a 98 i had the plug boots were bad if you did pull them one at a time dry them and blow the hole out with air good luck

I have, but unless the water sat there for 3 or 4 weeks before throwing a code, i don't think it's it.

just trying to get an easy fix still check you intake might have went bad like they all do worth a look good luck
