<div>SEMA has always been about companies coming together. We stopped by Clutch Alley where we found out that Fidanza and Zoom have come together to form The Clutch Alliance. They will be working in the future on shared technology and applications. <br />

Right next to the booth was the STS Turbo ZR7, the 700+ HP twin turbo Corvette. For the clutch on this car the Fidanza Twin Disc was selected. This Kevlar clutch features a steel flywheel for better drivability. STS needed something that could stand up to the power from this twin turbo engine, and Fidanza provided the perfect fit.<br />

Also, on hand in the booth was the new Variable Torque Clutch from Zoom for 1985-2008 Mustangs. This clutch offers 25% more clamping across the RPM band, according to Zoom. Where it really shines is in the low end of the RPM bank. Thanks to the levers that give this clutch extra bite, it can clamp with as little as 500 RPM. Zoom worked hard in the R&D department to make the clutch do the work for you, not you do the work for the clutch. That means you get a stronger clutch with little increase in the pedal force. <br />

Another interesting note is the friction material used on this clutch line. It is a Kevlar composite, but not like one you have seen before. This one requires no break in period, so the second your car has the new clutch install you can get out on the street and enjoy it. <br />
