Well went into the garage to fit the toe boards, prep, and install it too. As I was verifying the fit for it to be buttwelded to what remains of the original, I found an issue...........

I found there was a gap between the torque box and the front drivers side frame rail. That isnt a good thing. I had decided to leave the torque box in instead of replacing it until this...... So I got out the trusty Dewalt 4.5 inch grinder, the BFH, and the Chisel. After grinding down the welds holding the torque box in, I used the chisel to get rid of any remaining areas that were holding it in. With a good swift kick, it came out in 1 piece. That is good because it is still in good condition, just needs cleaned up, rust proofed, and reinstalled. The gap I found was caused by the shippers putting to much stress at an awkward angle on the piece, breaking the crappy welds that were on it. I should have seen this before.

I also removed the Front floor support and now can not reinstall everything until I get a new one. The inside of the front frame rail needs rehab'd. Tomorrow I will be rehabing the entire area, finishing the fit for the toe boards, rustproofing the area and replacement pieces. I will get pics tomorrow after I am complete. Wednesday I hope to be able to prime all of it.

My next shipment of parts will be in early October. It will include:
Quarter Skins
Driver Cowl side panel
Drivers outer firewall section
inner and outer wheelwells for both sides
1 piece trunk with transition pan and rear shock mounts
Battery tray fender apron(the one I had was crap!)
1 complete body fastener kit.

If anyone has an anvil I could use, it would be awesome....

Thanks for reading.....

Yeah but it will have to goto my dads and sit for several years so I got to get the body done in the next few months. Then have it all rustproofed and seam sealed and coated. This is pending official orders to Hawaii. If they stick me here for a few more years, I will have the time to finish it here.

Thanks for the remarks.

And yes, very time consuming.....especially correcting old half assed work. Emilio wonders why I am not around much....this is the reason.
