Haitian Orphans in US

I saw the news today that they flew 53 orphans to the US this morning as I was being told I was on the medical hit list for Immunizations. This got me to thinking, Did someone just greenflag these kids who may or may not have been properly screened for wonderful things like yellow fever or smallpox. I don't want to sound unsympathetic or a hater (personally I don't care) but could we have just made a really bad mistake, can anyone convince me that we did not just ship in a possible epidemic on a catastrophic scale by this gesture of good will. I saw how they were disposing of the dead (mass graves in the local trash dump) and somehow it doesn't reassure me that this was the brightest Idea to do.

Funny, I have a close friend who's brother and wife have been trying to adopt two kids from their for the last 2 years. Even now no luck..you would think.....:nonono:

I was there in the mid 90's during the last Haitien crisis...I have to say that of all the places I've been that was the most primitive savage place ever, truly a stinking pit. Sorry but I call it how I see it, and I been there. I am very sorry for all the death and sorrow, the people are not guilty for the state of the nation which made this disaster so much worse than it should've been. Building codes simply do not exist there. Build a city from non-reenforced cinder block and this is what happens.. I feel even worse for the children. I feel every child is equal at birth no matter race or nationality, children are innocent and all have the same potential. However, the fact is they are coming from a disease ridden sespool of a country. They should be properly screened and quarantened prior to mixing with our poplulation. Sympathy and political correctness be damned! Help them but dont put our people at risk in the process.

They need to send them hundreds of thousands of rubbers and tell them if they get a woman preganant after 2 kids they will be shot on site. That would fix most of thier problems. I hate to see tradgedies like this and do feel sorry for the kids but not the ignorant asshole that keep popping them out left and right knowing that they cannot provide for them. On news channel was showing this couple with 8 kids.......I mean come on...at what point do you say.....you're doing this to yourself?

This is Somalia all over again. We let the Somali orphans into this country and a few years later, the largest jump in criminal activities are in the Somali part of the city. We have a huge problems with the Somalis and their rising gang problem. I don't want to sound incensitive, but enough of bringing future problems into this country. Give them the resource and raise their own children in their country.

Friends new daughters fly in tonight. I guess this crisis made them get their butt in gear for previous adoptions in the works.

I completely agree with you. We cant even help our own people but yet we'll start running rescue efforts and cargo drops for another country within hours of a tragedy.

I agree..I am ashamed of the people in power. Its Political!!! I also blame all the jolie/pitts of the country who feel the need to adopt abroad instead of the millions of kids we have. SHAME:nonono:
