bobby, i have a question....do you think i'll need to retune if i swapped back to my Pi manifold?

More than likely yes. Otherwise what's the point?

well if thats the case then no point but if i were to get rid of my typhoon and through the PI on there i think i could pick a bunch of TQ back up and maybe even HP...

you had me confused because you said manifold, but I see you are talking about your T-body! It won't make much difference on a blower car. Get an Accufab if you swap anything and then get a retune in the L.A. area. :)

no, thats what i was talking about, my lower intake amnifold is a peice of **** and i dont want it no more, i'm more then sure that i can pick up ET with swapping intakes, i have my PI intake sitting in my garage

Dude stop right there and lets get the suspension dialed in and install the anti-roll bar before anything else!

I don't know of many alternatives, I know Fox Lake sells a P51 Intake for your car.

alright, i just figured it may not need a tune because the manifold will shift the power band down and not screw up the Air/fuel ratio, it's only gonna flow what the blower puts through the runners...

the stock PI manifold is actually really good by itself, the 51 is good for highly modified cars, the trickflow would be the only intake i would consider for an after market unit...

the PI man will lower your rpm band for flow in the lower end and match your cams since you have the stockers. IMO it couldn't hurt to try it... but i would at least get some more time on the new sus setup before you do it otherwise your changing too many variables at the same time and you wont really know what hurt/helped.

stemming to it's own thread here,
i hate having the PP typhoon, when i put on over two years ago i was dreaming of hitting the 8's with this manifold, before i put it on i ran 9.07's with the tune, exhaust, and intake. I put the maifold on and it slowed down to a consistant 9.3's and sometimes a 9.2....i never had a before and after dyno but the Et and the Mph both went south with intake. This leads me to believe that i want to go back to my stock intake and the best thing about it's free horsepower because i still have my PI intake, the only question is do i need to retune for the modification????? i want that low end grunt back that in turn could push my ET deeper in to the 7's and possibly pick up more MPH with the corrected tune....

ive already stated my piece but i do believe that the manifold has caused you to force the air flow out of its powerband. you currently have a mismatch in parts

Stock cams, with a mani designed for a high revving motor.

while your cams are making power the manifold is Way out of the optimal flow range and they kind match up in the middle but up top the cams stop making the power while the intake is probably getting turbulant because of the way the cams want to flow. the parts are definatly fighting.

i agree completely, but the question for the time being can i swap em with out retuning the engine, i mean the engine is already rich and i cant lean it out any more and i cant add more timming, the only thing i can do it pull it and obviously....

honestly the mani is a big change in flow numbers may require a retune but it wouldn't be major only one way to tell... swap it and watch your numbers.

i'll talk to you know who and see if he will adjust my current tune to adapt the intake and i can add some timming...
