Julian cruise

I got a flyer at the mustangs by the bay show from www.cruisingstangs.com.

"On Saturday October 17th 2009, we will be taking our first cruise as an official group.

We will be leaving Boomer’s parking lot in Clairemont, right off the 805 (6999 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego) promptly at 9am and will be headed out towards the Julian area. We will be getting lunch and then heading back, south through Cuyamaca Rancho State Park to the 8 to home.

As you all probably already know, its a beautiful drive and should be some fun too! The whole trip will take around 3 hours, including lunch.

Who knows what the turn out will be, but we know it’ll be a work in progress and it’ll be fun!"


Looks like fun. My wife and I are going on the cruise. Anyone else want to check it out?

nice drive up that way. I would reccomend they change the route a little bit to go across the 52 to the 15 and up instead of north to scripps poway. Also scripps poway is busy with lots of lights on it(We found that out last year during our annual cruise). Small groups of no more than 5 cars together in order to get through them without losing anyone. The route from Julian is a killer. Pay attention and look for the 4X4 police SUV's(Tactical Tahoes)..... Have fun whoever goes. Apple Country Buffet or something like that is just outside Julian at the corner of 79 and 78.... good parking and good food. Parking alot of cars in Julian will take awhile and is tough to get everyone through eating quickly there.....took about 3 hours 2 years ago and we had about 30 cars......

Just some things to think about for this one. Maybe if someone could forward these lessons learned to them as we have used that route before and found out the hard way about issues doing this route.
