Yep I dont think he hit him on the chin. Looked like a blow to the artery which will take you out for quite some time.

most likely was the chin. i take muay thai, been hit in the neck a lot and havent been knocked out. its not even spoken of. a well placed elbow on the chin is an instant knock out button. ive been hit in the chin and got my knees buckled.

either can cause a knock out, though in a fighting situation, neck is easier to go for than chin. there are pressure points all along your head / neck region. many of them can be used to knock a person out.
