I heard of this in a radio talk show. Seems like a great idea to help boost OUR economy.

The solution is too simple. The American people need to start requiring the government, that works for us, when using our money to purchase all goods and services bought on our behalf, to be only from United States sources. That is what our founding fathers wanted.

The concept that they are saving us money by buying off-shore is bogus, as the jobs lost and subsequent lost income will eliminate the ability for us to buy American made products. This can only exacerbate the increased unemployment, and cause company bankruptcy. Don't be fooled, their intention is to grab more power by making us all poor, and by controlling more big business.

The greed of us all wanting lower prices is also cutting our own throats in the process. The government and businesses, as well as the consumer has forgotten what made this country the greatest in history. To just flush it all away, and end up just another poor socialist country is a tremendous waste of our divinely enspired founding fathers vision, and the lives of all those that fought and died to keep us a free nation and a great Republic. --JB

Great post Tom! I made a post on SVTPerformance about a month ago stating all the people blaming the government and expecting them to get us out of this hole. Yet I had never seen a post that said what we as consumers and just Americans can do to help the economy. Wish there was one! This is a great start though! Thanks again.-Shane

OMG I JUST FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John Smith started the day early,
having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6 am.

While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking,
he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG),
and put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA),
designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and
tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA).

After cooking his breakfast in his new
electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA),
he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO),
to see how much he could spend today.

After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN)
to the radio (MADE IN INDIA),
he got in his car (MADE IN JAPAN),
filled it with GAS (from SAUDIA ARABIA)
he continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.

At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day
checking his Computer (made in MALAYSIA),
John decided to relax for a while.

He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL),
poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE)
and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA),
and then wondered why he can't find
a good paying job in AMERICA.

And now he is hoping he can get help
from the president (MADE IN KENYA).

Why didnt we do cash for clunkers for JUST the American made cars? This would have actually made an impact on a smaller level unlike all cars. Very confusing almost as if...there was another plot at hand. But hey, we helped the economy of other countries rite....

The key to our revival will have to be from capital investment and the return of manufacturing in this country. If we can't close the trade deficit, we will always play the role of debtor.
