Wondering where I am!?!?
I want to know why Stallworth kills someone DUI, get's 30 days and Vick got 23 months for killing dogs and dog fighting?

IMHO, both should never play again.

I will agree that I dont like the fact that he had his chance at fame and screwed it up. There are a million people that would love to have half the opportunities that he was given.

On the other hand I will say this as the devils advocate, what he did was wrong. Stallworth killed someone and isnt getting half the BS that Vick is. Vick served his time, he is no longer a Criminal, he is a Ex-Con....... In America once you do your time, you are a free person......well he did his time. Like some others have said, there are alot of guys in the NFL that have done much worse than Vick did. Vick has paid his debt to society.....He lost everything that he had and now has to start over. If he had decided to walk away from football and become a ESPN Football analyst, would everyone still think he didnt deserve to have the job? At least he got out of jail and is not becoming a drain on the welfare system and American public. That happens all the time, I am sure Danny can attest to that one.

My favorite quote of the day though is: "Hide your Beagle, Michael Vick is an Eagle!" as heard on NFL Network today....LMAO!!!!!!!

I am not a Vick supporter either though. I think he was a great athlete, and an average QB, that could run really well.

As long as he doesn't go back to associating with the same people that got him in this mess and go back to the same thing, then yes, he served his time and he should get a second chance to earning a living. I agree at least he will not be a burden to society where tax payers have to pay his way.

But in my experience, I am very weary of ex-con. The recividism percent is not in Vick's favor, he will have to walk a narrow line and mind what he do, because everyone will be watching him closely.

he is a great athlete just nto a QB he did his time and hopefully stays out of trouble. im tired of all the people bashing him about the animals he did his time with no problems and probably will donate and do so much charity for animals more then most of the people complaining (i know it all came from the wrong lesson in life or the reason he is donating) at least he didnt kill some one while driving under the influence. hopefully his speech is true he learned a lesson and was just in the wrong state of mind and only cared abotu himself. i know eagles are going to have a lot of trick plays up their sleeve now. im a die hard cowboys fan cant wait to see demarcus ware smash him in to the dirt

PS he is being watched over closely by the nfl and also has a great mentor dungy so we shall see if it all works. i hope it does because he is a exciting player to watch.... get hit

1. he did lose everything. he is bankrupt. he went to jail for two years. he lost connection with his family and has to explain to his children what he did and why he was gone for so long. his name is also tarnished and he'll never regain the stardom he had before all of this. he's also been working with humane societies to fight against dog fighting in the inner philadelphia cities. there is an audience only he can reach and he's been working to stop them from going down the same path he did.

2. punished more? how so? if you read #1 what more can be done to him? football is his JOB. it's the one thing he knows how to do well. at least he's not being a drain on welfare and collecting money by sitting on his ass. he's actually doing something productive which is earning himself money. for him to be banned from football is like banning a bricklayer from laying bricks cause he went to jail.

3. for people to say he's just going to do the same thing again and he hasn't changed. how can he? he has more eyes on him than he's ever had. you think he can get away with anything now? you think he can secretly go dog fighting without anyone finding out? people say he's only changed cause he got caught. well, sometimes that's what it takes to change. getting caught was the biggest and quickest intervention in his life.

4. look at the people supporting him:

roger goodell - the commissioner of the nfl. you think he'll let vick back in the nfl if he hasn't changed and wasn't truly repentant for what he did? he has the image of the whole league to keep up and was the same person to suspend vick INDEFINITELY when he went to jail. you think he would've reversed that decision if he thought vick hadn't changed and would go back to dog fighting in the background?

tony dungy - this man was and still is an inspiration to many players and coaches throughout the league. he's a hall of fame coach that lead peyton manning to a superbowl. he's done so much for the league and is respected by so many. do you think he'd throw all that away?

andy reid - the head coach of the philadelphia eagles. he's seen first hand in his own children what it's like to see people take a fall. so he knows what it's like to give a person a second chance. and i don't think he'd let someone easily pull the wool over his eyes.

jeffrey lurie - the owner of the philadelphia eagles. you only have to watch this to know vick is on a very slippery slope as far as he's concerned:

http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/multimedia/index.html?mm_file_id=7476&play_clip=y

donovan mcnabb - he's the starting quarterback of the eagles. there'd be no bigger controversy than bringing in a starting caliber qb in on his team. do you think he'd give the okay for this if he knew vick would blow his chance? he's already seen what it's like for the media to have a field day when t.o. was there... what more with a guy who plays his same position? yet, he lobbied for vick to become an eagle.

humane societies - if vick hasn't changed or if he was just looking to just make his image better, do you think they'd accept him? they'd look like fools. for them to let vick in, he'd truly have to be changed.

look at that list. that's a LOT of people he has to fool and a LOT of big names supporting him. if he really is just acting, then he really is the scum of the earth. but the names on that list are some of the most respected men in the league who wouldn't just chance it on a trouble maker. to have their support says to me that he does deserve a second chance.

i've personally made HUGE mistakes in the past and hurt people close to me... and i knew i didn't deserve a second chance, but were given them. i've never worked harder in my life to prove to those people that they weren't wrong for having faith in me. i think vick is at the same point in his life right now.

and yes, i'm a dog lover myself... family allergies aside, i'd have one right now. there isn't a more loyal companion that gives you their undying love. to come home from a HORRIBLE day and have them not care, walk up to you, and just cheer you up. dogs are truly man's best friend.

so... taking all that into consideration, i feel that vick deserves a second chance. he's paid his debt, he's working to change his image, and he has the right support group and the right team to help him out. like i said, if he blows this chance, that's a lot of egg on a LOT of respected people's faces.

p.s.

sorry for the long rant...

Hate him if you wish, but he did the time that was given to him by the US Legal system. Whether it was enough or not......that is not his fault, that is the justice systems fault. In the end, he killed a few dogs.......they were not humans! He did more time in prison than OJ didnt he?

Get over it, he is a free man until he does something to be convicted of again......HE DID HIS TIME!

i know you have your own opinion and so does everyone else but he did lose everything he had a baby right before going in and a fiance plus was the most played player in ATL (and i think even nfl) and lost it all. hopefully this did scare him straight big stars mess up big this was part of a culture which apparantly a lot of high rollers participate(d) in

no way he can hide it better nor do it again. he went to court and was sentenced and did his time with no problems

i agree plus he will do more for charities now then most people in the whole US granted the way this all came about was wrong but i think it will benefit more animals in the long run

dude, he does the charities so the nfl will let him play. if your an advocate of do your time and your ok in my book. maybe consider if you where moving next door to a murderer, or a rapist, or a child molester, would they be just as welcome in your home? i can see the point you argue but only to an extent. nfl players are role models, they are professionals, and i think he failed on that level and should be held accountable. if he never played another game of ball again i would say it served him right. the nfl is suppose to be a prestigious league of gentleman that operate at a higher level. not saying it does, but they should be above people like that.

so should Ray lewis be playing? and Dante Stallworth only got 1 year suspension for killing a person......

It is a job for them. They are only looked upto because we allow it to be that way. If we would stop paying huge ticket prices and buying jerseys and stuff, they would not get paid as much. Less pay and they would not have the means to finance these type of things......or get inot as much trouble. He was a young kid that had the world at his fingertips and thought he couldnt do any wrong.....it caught up to him and he paid for it.

maverick169v

no they shouldnt be playing either. same thing with the pedophile or the rapist, if he raped a woman, would you want him in a positon where his pictures could hang up in your boys room? im half playing the devils advocate, but im serious too.
