GRRR definately gonna start working on engine mods ASAP, I got my azz handed to me not once, not twice but 5 freakin times by a neon ricer today. I heard the boost on it and saw all the stickers so I'm betting on that he had better than 6 grand under the hood but this won't happen again. Got my car all pretty, now its time it lived up to its rice eatin name. I just bought BBK underdrive pulleys and cold air intake about 10 minutes ago, any other cheap suggestions?

GEARS, It will make a big difrence. Was the neon the turbo model from factory..4 something ..on back..? Those are almost 220 horsepower and run 1/4 in 13.8 They have as much power as you and they are lighter. I have a buddy who is a mopar freak. just like Ford, dodge has goodies to put on there cars as well. He was telling me they have a turbo for those neons that you can order through them that takes it up to about 300 or 400 horse...we are talking about a neon.... Steve you need gears and a blower...

Moving bbonus money will be here within a few weeks, just completed the final steps to get it so I will be looking for more stuff then.i dont think it came like that stock but hdefinately did mods to it unless all the stickers were just for looks, but the orange neon from hell wont be beating me again soon :)

build your Quad cam, and put a 150 shot on it and your done.... dont worry about gears if you really want to drive the car, If it is a toy, that you drive somtimes then go ahead...if you do gears i wouldnt go higher the 373's . I would also look at a full exhuast and headers..... Emilo can get what you need... I just order my parts from him and he saved me about a 125 bucks...

lol need to have my tranny rebuilt now too :( damn thing gave out on me saturday. I got to go on a "secret squirrel det soon anyways and think that I will wind up missing the car show :(. Sucks being in a helo squadron

lol WHAT KINDA DET IS THAT LOL. HEY i THOUGHT YOU JUST REBUILT THE TRANS AND PUT IN THE SHIFT KIT? WHAT ARE YOU DOING LOL//TRYING TO NEUTRAL DROP IT TO BEAT THEM IMPORTS DOWN THERE?

You should fix the trans and sell it..... buy a GT 5 speed and you wont loss to Neons anymore....

Its like a top secret det that I cant tell any details about until after we get back for opsec. naa, I really dont know what the hell happened, It worked fine for about a week or 2 the all at once shit dirve and overdrive, and now it comes up with solenoid a and solenoid b malfunction codes, I just replaced sol b, damn the luck

Steve seen you rNeon this past weekend in Bakerfield Ran mid 11. The licence plate frame said " Dont be scared it a Neon and I am a girl"

I think thats what he ran on the Dyno at Roger vogts......... Don't let us make you give up... that car can be fast..... just going to take time, and that 4 valve setup you have is all you will need! If i were you thats all i would be worring about...**** the trans put that motor together and then fix the trans to be strong enough for the 4 valve... I would also me looking at a 3500 or more STALL!

If you want to accellerate, you need gears. 3.73 are very streetable with my Tremec. If you're getting toasted, you'll need a bunch of power. Come up with a game plan and then ask people to pick it apart for weakness.

There's a 'bad ass' Neon running around here in Jefferson County, MO. Bright yellow/orange, turbo, 5 speed, dual exhaut and says RT4 over the driver's side hood and fender.
