new 95 gt

well,,,,,,,

i picked up teal 50's old 95 gt. and needless to say, it needs some love!

a few things that ive found as of right now that need fixed.
-shocks
-struts
-clutch
-clutch cable
-possably throtle cable, it seems to have some play, but i might be able to pull that slack out!
-break calipers, 3 of four were missing c clips and split washers!
-tail pipes
-and some interior things including,

the stereo not working, and the ac vents not workin, and the clock not workin

but,,,, since i need to start somewhere, i pulled the shocks and struts off of the cobra along with the wheels tires and c clips so that i can actually drive it somewhat safely

however, there is still a good clunk when i hit bumps. im thinking that the shocks need to be tightened a bit more possibly, any other thoughts???

also i do need to replace this clutch asap!!

but ive never replaced the clutch in a 95 before, so my question as far as that goes, how does it compare with the cobra clutch?? as far as pulling and installing the new clutch. if any one has a bit more experience with this, then i would appreciate it, thanks.

i hope so,,, i think im gonna end up pulling it while its in the garage,,, so im hoping that its not as big of a pain in the ars as the cobra!!

with it you prty well have to drop the k member and pull the headers,,,, ok,,, well you do!!!!!! and thats not a fun job in the garage!! you almost have to have a lift!!

It's fairly easy ...I did mine in garage on jackstands , BY MYSELF !!!!

Well , I had my wife help me a little bit trying to get the input shaft to line up !!!!!

But it's really easy to do , the t5 is very light ......

well thats a little hard to believe!!

cool, well god to go, ill get the clutch probably here in a week or two and get her started!!

another problem that ive seen in the car is two fold.

one it seems to run fairly hot!! ill probably just put a new thermo in it and see where that gets me, any idea on what thermo these 5.0's come with??

and the other i see is that it seems to have very high oil pressure!! now this is a problem ive never run into! so i dont even know what could cause the oil pressure to be as high as it is! im not even sure it really is a problem. i mean, oil pressure means i have great lubracation right,,,,,, so should i even wory about it?? i dont know,, but i am at this point probably more concerned about the oil pressure over every thing else!!

well i did some of my own research, and it appears as though its all good!!

looked into the oil pressure problem, and ill see what happens when i change to a bit of a thinner oil! i dont know whats in the car right now. but some 5w30 should bring the oil pressure down a bit, and some sea foam wont hurt either!! so ill keep yall posted and let ya know what happens after the oil change!

however i am still concerned about this tranny! im hearing some harsh grinding coming from it. im thinking i have some sincroes goin bad aswell.im gonna change out the tranny fluid in it and see what happens with that and putting a new clutch in. and well go from there. but i think in the end the trannies gonna need to be swapped out!

does any one know of a tell tale sign that the tranny is gonna take a dump? im not too familiar with the internals of it, but im kinda wanting to attempt a rebuild before i go for a completely new tranny or a refurbished one! but in the end ill definately need some assistance with the change out!

well,,, after doin a bit of research i decided that tearing into the t5 and rebuilding it would be a great learning experience, and would accomplish the goals that i have. i dont need the tranny to hold any real amount of power, after all it is just a dd. and i dont want to shell out the dough for a new tranny, but it definately needs work. so after the beginning of the year, shes commin out and getting the tear down! if any one knows a bit about this and could offer some advice id love it. thanks

well, as of right now all the cobra needs is a new ecu! which the mega squirt is gonna take care of. so shes just waiting. however as of this point the gt is borrowing her shocks and struts. but they will go back on the as soon as i get a new set for it!

but, along with the megasquirt im gonna throw in a dedicated drive from hob, and an overdrive crank! so shell be alive soon enough my friends soon enough!

as for the gt, as soon as the cobra hits the street, shell be goin under the knife for a tranny rebuild! oh my god she needs it soo bad! i cant even get her up to 4500 without hearing granding and mashing from the tranny! and it grinds goin in gear and screams on decellaration! all the tell tale signs of a tranny getting ready to take a nice steaming dump all over you!

this one is about to drive me insane and i just got it!!! we'll see how long it lasts before i drive it off a clif!!

hay 95beast, i have a question. while driving at night, my lights just go out for no reason. if i turn them off and turn them back on they work fine for a few and then go off again! do you have this problem too? teal said ford has a tsb out about it, but im not sure one way or the other, i mean my last 95 gt never had any problems like this in the least! if you have had these problems though, how did you fix it?

or if any one else has any ideas about this, id love to hear some input!

yea that was what i was thinking! im gonna pull it out and see what i can do with it!

nope! no pics yet! shes not worth takin pics of yet! that pos,,,,,, hell i dont even claim her yet! when she starts acting better! and she proves her worth! then ill take pics and post em up! but as of right now, i dont even know if shes gonna keep takin up valuable space in the garage! i may fix her up just a bit more, and sell!!!!!! but thats only if things dont start lookin up! as of right now, if i knew everything that is wrong with it i would have never even called him about it! i knew it needed a few things when i drove it, but i didnt even drive it out of the neighborhood, because the shocks and struts were bottomed out,,,,,,,,,,,,,THEY WERE THAT BAD!!!!!!!!! but at any rate!!!! i had no idea that it needed this much love!!!!

as of right now, shes pulling my time away from the cobra,,,,,,,,,, and i just cant have that!!!!!! damn gt pos!!!!!!
