well, as many here probably know by now, i'm an eagles fan. ever since i moved here, i've basically been paying out the @$$ for nfl sunday ticket to watch my favorite team. this year seemed like a new high with prices in the $280 range. well, i was browsing some of the forums i normally do and read about people calling in to negotiate their nfl sunday ticket contracts.
i was blown away when people were telling me that they were getting nfl sunday ticket for $149 total, some with FREE superfan. i thought it may have all been a joke until i tried it myself.
i called up d*tv and when i got the automated answering machine that asked what i was calling about, i said,"cancel nfl sunday ticket". now, i had NO real intention of canceling my subscription, but that's part of the trick. when i got to a csr, i told them that because of the economy and not making as much being in sales, i was thinking about canceling my nfl sunday ticket subscription. i asked him if there were any deals i could apply for or do to lessen my monthly bill as having the hd package was already a strain on my expenses.
he told me that he could lower my monthly bill for nfl sunday ticket by $10 a month, bringing my total charges to $209 for 6 months of nfl sunday ticket. being a "hit me" player in blackjack, that wasn't good enough for me. so i told him that $209 is still out of my reach. he said he'd do $20 off my monthly bill and that'd bring my charges down to $149 for the 6 months. i said i could do that and thanked him for the awesome deal. i also told him i was affraid i'd have to cancel nfl sunday ticket, but the deal he gave me helped a LOT.
so, now i get to watch EVERY nfl game this season, for HALF of the price! SWEET!!!
for anyone who wants to try this, i suggest you do. and if your csr won't budge, just hang up and call back. i heard this will also only work for people who already have sunday ticket and have it set to auto renew. i'm thinking d*tv would rather give a STEEP discount than lose someone who's subscribing to their most popular package. kinda like a car salesman will eat a couple grand to get you in that new car.
the $150 i'll end up saving will now go towards my mach.
p.s.
here's a link to the thread which i was reading about this deal:
