well, as we all know, i wanted to go to HMX in VA for my next command. i just got this email back from the counterintel cheif

Cpl Murdock,

There's no need to worry about the Credit Report. You're Pre-Screening has
already been denied because of excessive derogatory information.
Unfortunately there is no appeals process. The bottom line is you do not
meet the qualifications for the eminently qualified Marine. Good luck to
you in your future endeavors.

i am trying to figure out what derogatory information is. i have 4.7/4.7 pro cons, i was rec's with enthusiasm for re-enlistment, and ive never been in trouble since ive been in the marines, and i have a top secret clearance. it has to be something i did when i was a kid. i emailed him back and asked him what it meant, but who knows if he will respong.

bummer

If you have never been in trouble and have high evaluations and credit is ok if that matters then it must be a typo. I would look more into it. He might just be blowing smoke but thats rude if he is. Good luck man.-Shane

i got the response. its all the **** i did when i was a kid. i have a TS/SCI, but i wouldnt get approved for a YW.

this is the new response

Cpl Murdock,

Every little mistake in judgment you made is heavily scrutinized by the
Department of Navy Central Adjudication Facility (DONCAF) for the TS/SCI,
then by SECNAV for the YW. While you would likely get the TS/SCI, you would
not get the YW. While they both recognize that nobody is a perfect angel
all the time, excessive derogatory information is a reflection of character
and judgment. An official denial of YW is permanent and you can never apply
for the clearance again. In the long run, denial at the Pre-Screening level
is better for you career wise than at the SECNAV level. Technically you
have not been denied a clearance...just the opportunity to apply for one.

Unfortunately I don't have time to review every detail on your Pre-Screening
with you. This explanation will have to suffice.

chp took me almost a year to get a class date, and the selection process weeds out a lot of people. i didnt think it was hard but i know a few people who rocked out. you would have to extend to buy time if you go the chp route. i have a lot of info on it if you want it though.

SDPD is still hiring. They are in desperate need for good people. Several buddies of mine are FTO and they failed so many new recruits who just finished academy and going out on the field. They all saying WTF with all these new recruits, they are brain dead.

So, yeah, they need good people. BJ, if you plan on going that route and want to stay in SD. Look into SDPD. They still pay pretty decent.

Dude you was trying to get into the hardest squadron in the Marine Corps!!!!!! You do realize you would be face to face with the president quite pften. They have a very tuff time getting people....... Most of us were hell raisers to begin with........ which for the most part makes us who we are. Hope this helps.
