RDP Motorsports is among the top new performance shops in the country, turning wenches on anything from Fords to Chevy's, and everything in between. Want to build an award winning show car? RDP can do it. Want to build a 1,500+ hp street car? No problem. We recently check out a new build RDP is going on a 1996 Street Strip Mustang with an insane Mod Motor build.

Read the story below, or check our RDP's web site for more information:
RDP's latest wild project car is this ’96 Mustang Cobra SVT.

The plan for this Mustang is to build a street/strip car that will run in the 8-second zone, but still be completely streetable This Mustang is equipped with a blown 4.6 Ford Modular Engine that made an amazing 767.6 HP - without nitrous!

Getting that power to the rear end is a C4 transmission with a trans brake, while EFI is handled by an aftermarket Motec Computer System. The street/strip plan for this car will take it to different tracks, car shows, and tours including the Power Tour this year - but it needs some massive meats. We'll get to that in a second, but first, check out the dyno video below of this monster Modular:
With all the power, some serious work was required to get it planted down on the ground. The current stage the RDP team is at, is inserting a back half chassis into the Mustang. This is part for show, but also for go. Huge tires will hook on the street, giving the 700+ hp modular the possibility to scare prospective customers at will.

This chassis was designed, bent, and welded right in the RDP shop. In fact it is just one of the many different types of full fabrication RDP is capable of.

Stay tuned with RDP to follow the rest of this build.
