<div>Hip Hop and pony cars might sound like strange bed mates at first, but it isn’t all that crazy. The Mustang is an American icon through and through, and if you’ve ever watched an episode of MTV’s cribs, you know that many rappers have ridiculous car collections. Nelly is no exception, and after catching a glimpse of the 2011 Mustang last year at Ford’s design studios, he knew he had to have one. <br />

<a href="http://themustangnews.com/carnews_10/0110-2011-nelly-mustang-233.htm" target="_blank">The Mustang News</a> is reporting that Nelly has commissioned his “DUB” edition Mustang and it will appear on the rappers upcoming album. <br />

Born Cornell Haynes Jr., Nelly was born in Texas and raised in Mississippi. His first major debut album, Country Grammar, was a smash hit, and he has gone on to release five other albums as well as star in major motion pictures like the Adam Sandler remake of The Longest Yard. He was at the Ford design studios last year to help promote the Flex, when he saw the Mustang. He has since teamed up with Ford to bring about his own vision of the 2011 Mustang.<br />

Customized by <a href="http://www.dubmag.net/" target="_blank">DUB magazine</a>, the Mustang GT has been blacked out from front to back with a glossy black paint job. The grill was also blacked out, as were the massive wheels (22 inches up front, 24 inches out back). A <a href="http://www.streetsceneeq.com/" target="_blank">Street Scenes custom body kit</a> with a hood scoop and blacked out taillights was added and flat black racing stripes were as well. The 5.0 liter 412 horsepower engine was left untouched, although a <a href="http://www.borla.com/" target="_blank">Borla cat-back exhaust system</a> was added for a throatier sound. Speaking of sound, two <a href="http://www.jlaudio.com/" target="_blank">JL Audio 12-inch subwoofers</a> add a lot of boom to this beast, which should be blasting his new album (whenever it comes out).<br />

Maybe Nelly and Vanilla Ice can both go rollin’ now in there five point ohs.<br />
