SC Pulley Noise?

Any feedback on this will be appreciated. Mine is an '08 Shelby GT500. I recently had a Metco SC pulley installed with the auxiliary idler/tensioner kit. I have noticed it's fairly noisy. It chirps when the engine is cold, but that goes away when it reaches operating temp. But I also have a squeaking noise when the throttle is applied - especially noticeable at around 40mph. The squeaking stops when the clutch is applied, then returns when I hit the gas.

I've had it checked at the shop (JBA) and they think it will eventually go away - or they may install a new belt. Has anyone else had this problem with a new SC pulley?

Try belt dressing, I am having an issue now that sounds like yours.. Belt dressing fixed my issue..

I put a belt on that was way to tight and the squealing will eventually go away once the belt stretches.. the belt dressing will help with that..

i was going to say, try a different belt... I could have swear on the back of the belt dressing can it says not for use on serpentine belts... might want to check that before buying it.. an old trick is rub a bar of soap on the belt... works great for me.. and it doesnt throw **** every were when you turn the car on!

Thats the old school stuff they now have some nice Silcone spray that is the chit...

Old post, but i would tend to think it a bearing issue on the aux idler mounted on the bracket. I usually just replace one of the factory 75mm idlers with a 90mm to take up the slack.
