Why does everyone want a retired, beat to ****t, cop car?

most aren't beat up. just high mileage. They were retired well below 100k, at least in Cali.

Plus, you know they had routine maintenance, and there's a cult type of following on these cars. they bring in high dollars to collectors. check out www.sspmustang.org these guys go nuts over these, restoring them to police specs with working lights, sirens, spotlights.

I guess they just offer more rarity. They have certain "extras" that Ford installed/added to these, such as oil cooler, upgraded amp alternator, relocated trunk button near left drive knee below dash, calibrated 160mph speedo vs stock 140.

In Northern Cali a guy is selling a unit that was used for their EVOC driver training. 85k miles, all working equipment except the shot gun. Selling for over $20k

CHP SSP is mostly highway miles. They rarely go into the cities. They were mainly used for pursuit. And Yes, very well maintained. CHP probably have one of the best garage/maintenance on their fleet.

I REALLY want this car. My G/F would kill me if I bought another car. We had a nice little talk after I bought the Z06. Anyone want to be my roommate:rofl:
