Stable Racing

Ok Finally putting my experience into words.

Had Stable Racing(SC) install a clutch, Throw out Bearing, Pilot bearing for me, price $500(or 550) less than 4 months pass and the ToB starts making a grinding sound. So I call Stable and they agree to replace the ToB for $50. They also installed the new cable, pickup and firewall adjuster. I'm thinking everything is great. I drop off the car and pick it up 3 days later. Drive it home, everything seems fine. Drive to work, get lunch then notice what sounds like exhaust rattling. Get back to work and look under the car to see both sides of the mid-pipe to catback dangling around, the bolts were never tightened, I get those replaced(2 fell out on the way home). I get to looking at the clutch pickup and notice that the spacers were never installed either, and also the transmission cover where the clutch fork was never replaced. There is also still an exhaust leak that I have to track down, I am thinking he left out the pass. side exhaust gasket.

I called Stable and they said that the spacers were not needed for the pickup(WTF) and that the transmission cover was also not needed(WTF). And to bring the car back and they would figure out where the exhaust was leaking. NO THANK YOU.

So my advice for anyone in SC that needs work done, Do not go to Stable Racing in Greer/Taylors (Wherever thats considered)

Wow, man, that sucks, I hope that all works out for you.

I would tell them that you have "lost confidence in their ability to fix the problem. and Agree that it is their fault and they are going to pay for it but they wil lnot be doing the repairs, and then find another shop and have them fix it and then have Stable pay you for the work. Just my 2cents

Yikes!
Sorry to hear about that.....
It amazes me how many irresponsible shops / people manage to stay in business...

when I had my jeep suspension work done a few years back, I took it to a local shop that had a great reputation. Unfortunately for me, I didn't get the same results... I was -very- disappointed...

ive heard good things from mark. Give he a chance to fix it. Looks like you gave him a chance and he failed. Better luck next time. Thats why I do everything myself except forr tuning my car and filling my nitrous tank. LOL

He put a gearset in my car in August and also a Transgo reprogram kit for the tranny. Mark did a GREAT job on my car. He was a little slow due to a lot of projects, but he was helpful, very knowlegeable, and his pricing was very good. I am taking my wifes car to him in the next couple of weeks to have some mods done.

I'm sorry. My tranny wines like a mother, the clutch still feels like crap, exhaust leak, missing tranny cover, bolts falling out of exhaust. All that is unacceptable. Pricing was good, service was not.:nonono:

Maybe he has a friends service and a strangers service.

meh,

did you supply the clutch kit or did he? if it was one of those crappy kits from auto zone or where ever they just plain suck. but you are right he should have put the cable cover on and tightened the bolts.

But my experience was A+. Its a shame he made a bad impression on you. I would still let him try and remedy his mistakes.

He provided the clutch kit and everything the first time. After the first TOB went out after less than 4 months I gave him one to replace it with.
