The Outlaw Street Racing association rolled into Atlanta Dragway this past weekend for their race, which is always packed full of excitement. The fans were treated to a wild show, which was highlighted by the crazy guys that stake their claim in Limited Street action. Steven Jackson better known as “Killin Time” shocked the crowd with a shot heard round the world. Jackson rolled through the top end of the eighth mile on his Mickey Thompson Drag Radials and lit the scoreboards up with a new record to the amazement of everyone in attendance.
Steven Jackson started the season with some highs and lows. Anything from running a 4.60 second run at the Outlaw Radial Tire Championships, to nearly destroying the car and having to rebuild has been his season thus far. The amazing crew has the fox-body Mustang looking better than ever and it runs pretty damn good too. During Friday nights qualifying session at Atlanta Dragway Jackson posted an astonishing 4.53@170mph in the eighth mile on radials, powered by a big block Chevrolet with a Procharger out front. The run eclipses his previous record and ignites a whole flourish of internet talk of just when will it end for the radial racers. The 1.20 sixty-foot is only a few ticks behind what a Extreme 10.5 car is capable of, and his 4.53 would have qualified him in the number fourteen spot this past weekend.
Just where will it end? Well I am not so sure I want to even imagine that happening with some of the best races in the country getting ready to take place in the next few months.
