i don't normally tell stories from work online but i thought you guys might get a kick out of this one. one of the reasons my managers like me so much is that im not afraid to put my foot down with customers which is a skill most employees lack.
well today has been very interesting so far to say the least lol. i was supposed to be at work at 6 today but i didn't hear my alarm go off and my dad woke me up at 6 lol. so i called and said i was gonna be there in 20 min and i was sorry. and this is very strange for me lol. im never late. i think there has only been 2 days out of 3 years i have been late. and only one person knows about both lol. anyways i should have gotten a write up for both at the minimum but the managers gave me a break since im never late.
then a couple hours later i broke the headset for drivethru and it was the only working one we have lol. and it was busy as hell. so in the midst of trying to fix the headset im taking orders and expediting the food and everything at my window. eventually i fixed it and got it working temporarily. still needs replaced ASAP. and i broke it when i was walking and the cord to the headset caught on something and i basically got whip lash from it lol. it was a hard hit.
then a couple hours after that were still busy, im handing out an order at our second window and this lady asks if i can throw her stuff away. i told her politely that i can't that its health department regulations but there was a trash can at the end of the drivethru she could use. she got really angry at this response and began yelling multiple times "well what if i throw it in the window?!" i told her don't do it but saw she already decided to do it and i prepared myself for it. she threw the bag of stuff at me and in mid air when it got within arms reach i smacked it back at her HARD. that **** went flying at her at 90mph lol. i know she wasn't expecting that and stormed off lol.
anyways i told my manager what happened and that i hit it back at her and she started laughing histarically and said the lady was no longer welcome here lol. the rest of my shift went normally lol. but ya, definitely an interesting shift today.
