Blackstallion~We weren't able to get the car to the track before they closed up for the winter. I'm sure all the changes will be made before it gets to the track for the coming up season. As it sits now, it should be deep in the 9's, but like I said, that's just a guesstimate. As I'm sure you know, a Mustang is never done, so by the next season, it'll probably have a completely different set up. We'll be sure to keep you posted on it's progress.

Wickedstangs~Things are going good. I think I'm good to go so far. Talked to a few more friends about the Colorado Chapter and they are all good to go. I should be getting everything set up soon. Thanks for all the help!

What track do you go to is it Vandameere? Or something like that..I have a brother in law from CO. I grew up with him telling me stories of His Cyclone he used to race there..It ran 10's on the moter. I remember one story he told me about a Mustang. He was drunk and my sister was driving the Cyclone home. (427 moter) It was white w/ primar spots and no hood with a tunnel ram and 2 fours. This 86 Mustang GT kept messing with her down one of the main roads in downtown Denver. Finaly she got tired of it and when The light hit green she clicked the Quicksilver shifter down and jumped on it..Of course the stang was no match for the cyclone, but my brother said all he seen was the head light as this guy was banging gears.. Ever since then He had wanted one..I have another sister who has owned mustangs since 85gt, 92 Gt and now a Cobra. Though jim seen them and drooled he finaly bought a 06 this year and loves it..

Wrong kinda cyclone. I am talking like a 66 Mercury Cyclone. His pulled the wheels two feet at high altitude in Denver. I hate to see what it would do at sea level or in the Midwest. He also had a hot rod van with a very warmed over 302 in it... when he brought it from CO to Mo he said it made a huge diffrence in the way it ran.

Thanks for the welcome!

Now let me tell the "Cyclone" story the way it really happened... LOL. Blackstallion is correct in that my (then girlfriend, his sister) was driving the 'Clone home from the bar in Wheatridge, CO, not downtown Denver. We had about 7 or 8 miles to get home down Kipling street, which is a wide 4-lane street West of Denver. This guy in a black '85 GT kept harassing her and trying to get to go for it. She finally had enough, and at the 20th cross street light, she let him have it... All I saw was her Goodyear Eagle tire smoke and his bouncing headlights as he hopelessly grabbed gears. I was never so proud and scared to death at the same time before or since. Only thing is, she kept her foot lodged firmly into the intake as we screamed across West Colfax avenue. Yes, the collectors made that hideous screaching, scraping noise as we landed after flying quite literally over all six lanes of the intersection at oh, probably 90 miles per hour. She doesn't drive my hot rods any more.

Btw, that car went 10.67 @ 131 mph at 5800 feet of altitude at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison Colorado. I hear that they have recently moved it to another location, but I don't know where. It was the coolest track I have ever been to, including Gateway International, just across the river in Illinois.

That's about all I can remember, as it's been 20 plus years since I had that car. If I can find my pics of the beast, I'll scan a few and post 'em.. where's really old nostalgia section?

Emilio, windveil is right it would be cool to have a link in pics section of the nostalgia section. I got a few pics of my first car i could put in there. not a mustang but still a "A" body car. 66 falcon.
Andy (machman) has a very nice 67 or 68 mustang that would go up there as well.
