Well the poll has closed. I am going to create a video to go with the flyers. This should be good. A VIDEO FLYER.......it will autoplay on the flyer when the event post is opened. It may take me awhile to do but it will be done.

We will need some sponsorship for this years event. I will get with the following people on this:
Anthony
BJ
Emilio
WKDRSH
VP

Just the usual suspects.
No offense to anyone not listed. We will still need your assistance in planning this event. I think Emilio planned the whole thing himself last year. As a team we can completely blow away last years results....which ended up being an awesome event even in the rain.

I have a couple of wierd ideas for advertising this one........Emilio, we need to talk, and it will not cost you money.

I would like to keep the planning for this kind of secretive as far as who is sponsoring and such. Emilio, can you create a forum for us to use, that you give only certain members access? If so can we call it the 2nd Annual Car Cruise planning forum. That way there is not a bunch of bad info about the event going around and what is disclosed to other forums and such will all be the same.

Websites posted to last year were:
www.svtperformance.com
www.modularfords.com
www.socalterminators
www.socalstangs.com
www.wickedstangs.com
www.socalmuscle.4t.com
www.ls1tech.com
LS1.com
Mustang Nation
BlackMustangClub
Mustang Forum

The more the better. Emilio, what was the final car count last year? What do we want this year......more or less? More is not always better.......

OK until we get a private forum I am done.........

So this is a protected thread?

Anyway,

I would like to start by getting a really general layout of this years cruise.

My opinion of how it should go(we all know about opinions):

18 October 2008
0830 Meet at MAC
1000 Roll from MAC

From there we will proceed along about the same route as last year. If we like the Palomar Mountain Portion we should incorporate that leg into it. We should be able to get to DynoMite tuning by 1-2 PM. I am not sure yet as I have not mapped it all out. Once there we will have the Dyno Shootout. There should be 2 classes like last year. N/A and Power Adder. Plaques or Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each. Emilio, get with me about the trophy/plaques please. I would like to see about getting something different, but we will talk. for lunch, I think we need to stop anywhere but Julian. Or do a BBQ at the end charging a few dollars for each person that gets food. I do not know how well that would go over where they are at. Maybe even Pizza for when we get to DynoMite Tuning. I mean Little Ceasars pizza is like $5/large pizza. We could just order a buynch of those and a few cases of drinks. We will have a raffle at the end of the cruise, for all the items we get given to us.

Companies I would like to contact for this event:
MAC- Obviously. They may want to give away their stuff while we are there. Possibly even give a great discount to all people that attend. 25% or so. Just an idea.

Shelby Industries- with a good heads time wise, up maybe they will really give us something good this time...Grill, discounts, Autographed stuff. We shall see on this one.

Silverhorse Racing- maybe a set of those 1/4 window louvers for the 05+ crowd.

Crower Cams- Local company that makes a good product for the 5.0 guys.

Local Ford dealer up close to DyniMite Tuning. They may give away discounts on merchandise, maintenance, or parts.....something like that. Would be nice to get in with a dealer to create a relationship with them.....could pay off big time for them and us.

Trufiber- Emilio I know they work with you alot.

Edelbrock- they have parts for all different brands. Good stuff too.

WickedStangs Performance Shop- I would say this one but the guy that runs it is just in the business for him....down with the little guy you know.

I think that is a good list so far.

So, I believe in contacting these guys asking for stuff and to use their names and such to promote the cruise we should....send them official letters. All signed by the President. You know promote our club as professionals that care about the Domestic Performance Vehicles.

With LA just up the road it might be nice to contact, 5.0 Mustang, Modular Fords, or one of the magazines to see if they want to cover the event for an article. Yes BJ being the oldest at this one you might get mentioned in a mag..... Also, we need to advertise the event on Craigslist(after the specifics are ironed out). Being a Mustang Club of America Member I get free advertising in their monthly magazine. I will find a way to get the event in there. I am open to suggestions. I know this was alot of stuff with a few details but with the group of us that have access to this I think we can get most of this and create another bigtime event for SoCal.

Thanks for listening....

I just click on it and I am in. My wifes new account does not even see this forum though.

She sees the events one and only 2 threads under that. This folder is not seen by her account.

Scratch that^^^^^^^^^

I called MAC this morning. They will be happy to have us and are glad we are coming back this year. They also said they hope it does not rain on us this time.

I talked to Jan(I think that is her name).

So now we have a starting point and ending point. MAC and Dynomite Tuning.

Now we need sponsors for give aways, the route finalized and media(flyers, primer video, and possible coverage from national magazine).

Looking good already.

Guys this is just my opinion but, I think Dynomite tuning is a little shady, What do you think?

Well we do not have alot of choices do we?

It is not a tuning day. Just 2 pulls and off the machine. As long as it is like 25 per car.

BJ talk to them and get it scheduled for that day.

Emilio, how many people pulled last year? 30? 40? So we have a general idea of how many to say will be there.

I really don't mind who we get like you said Gibs not many choices. Figure what time we get there and estimate 35-40 min a car actually it felt like an 1hour a car..

Yeah I wish it was not so long of a time to do a car. We need to stick to the timeline as best as possible.

I already sent the letter and a personal email to Gary Patterson, the VP at Shelby. As far as MAC, we want them to be available on the 18th of OCT for us starting at about 730 to about 10. I figure if we roll out about 10 AM that would be good. Spend about 2 hours there. Meetup starts at what 8 AM?

Sound good?
