found this

I HAVE INSTALLED A 4.6L FROM A 98 MUSTANG INTO MY 88 LX. (WAS A 5.0) I HAD TO PURCHASE A AJE K-MEMBER WITH MOUNTS & I MODIFIED MY TRANS CROSSMEMBER TO FIT THE T-45 TRANS & SHORTED MY DRIVESHAFT (FRPP FOR A 96-98 MUSTANG) HAD TO SHORTEN .655" YOU WILL NOT NEED MOTOR MOUNTS IF U PURCHASE THE AJE K-MEMBER. I DID RUN INTO A PROBLEM WITH THE ANTI-THEFT FROM THE 98 MUSTANG ECM. i FIRST USED A JUMPER WIRE AT THE PCM TO SEND A SIGNAL. THEN I SENT MY ECM OUT & HAD IT PROGRAMMED SO IT DID NOT NEED IT, ALONG WITH HAVING IT TUNED.

This shouldn't be too tough of a project it will greatly benifit those that have never witnessed a swap like this one. The car should be a hit on the track.

I was looking up parts and specs last night on ebay and on google, i couldn't even find a cold air intake for this car. I haven't seen the engine but im sure some thing will fit it.

In the hot rod mag that CWO found, they used a K member for 96-04 mustang, i think if we were to come up short we could go to the junk yard and pick one for cheap.

I like the way you are thinking.. From what I have read too should be an fairly easy install... We will see.
