ok everyone, I saw the car. It was right down the street from Gibs house, so I stopped by to get a second opinion. (Thanks Gibs!)

It's a very solid car thats been cared for pretty well.

The bad:
Needs door locks re-keyed. Door key missing.
Rear shocks need replacing.
Arm rest broken
Ash tray door broken
Door map pockets sagging
Odometer not working. Stuck at 93k (I think)

Pros:
VERY straight body with original paint and VIN tags
NO rust
No excessive grease/grime in engine bay. Kept up with all maintenance
2 previous owners (brothers)
16" Cobra R replica wheels, good mis-matched tires
Interior complete. No rips, tears, all panels and plastics intact
Car passed smog this week.
Starts and idles smooth.
BAD A$$ booming sound system!

Now, this is a first-timer beginner car. So far I'm convinced to let her buy it, but a decent early 90's Nissan, Honda or Toyota is what her mom wants for her.......reliability.

What do you guys/gals think about the reliability of these 4 bangers? Any comments? suggestions?

Well, after thinking it over I'm gonna help her get a 5.0L Fox. Thats a real clean 4cyl Fox, but for a few hundred more I can easily find a 5.0L

Be sure to teach her how to properly drive it. A V8 mustang for a first car is a lot of power.

She actually has $1k from mom and $1k from grandma for a car. The way things are going there's no way I can buy her a car :dontknow: If I could I would though! like I said, shes my baby :proud:

her mom wanted a "practical" car. I agree, a nice Fox body at least would've been great. We saw some nice deals out there on some auto trans 5.0L's out there. I was narrowing it down to some auto trans converts, but in the end, she wanted her to get a 4 door to help out the family as well. UGH!! We were so close to a nice red on black 90 convert LX that just needed tires! Maintenance and repairs would have been next to nothing with all our resources!! but oh well, mom wins this one.
