the aluminum ones can be resurfaced but its hard. the steel insert gets heat treated in a sense, us machinist folk call it work hardened. i have some carbide inserts that should be able to cut it but that is only if it is an uninterupted cut, i.e. countersinks, counter boares, rivets.
