almost made a mistake

so, as you all know i just had my second kid and ive had a lot of time to think and talk with the wife about our future and my upcomming deployment. one of the subjects we discussed was selling the mustang and the pontiac to get a larger SUV which we do need. i was thinking about it and it seemed to be the best decision. it would be easier to store one car while im gone and only have to pay for one.

in the begining the reason i bought the mustang was to share it with the family. have it be a fun daily driver project that was fast, confortable and affordable, but somewhere along the line i forgot about it and turned it into a "race" car that is extremely uncomfortable that the family doesnt like ridint in. so there was my problem.

as i said we had talked about selling the car, and when i get back getting a cobra because that would be all the car i need. fast, but comfortable as a daily driver that the family will ride in.

well, the more i thought about it i really like my car and after all the work i put into it i dont want to let it go... so, i have thought some more and come to a good decision. im gonna keep the mustang do one of two options...

1) save it for when i can afford a fun project to build. buy a cobra as planned as a fun daily driver

2) turn the fox into the daily driver i want. rather than spend 20-25k on a cobra, invest money into bullwinkle to make it that way. ditch the drag suspension and build it to take corners but ride smooth. get a new more powerful engine, but add a/c and heat. buy more confortable seats, stereo and speakers.

so far im leaning towards option 2, but its still a long way away, wont happen until after my next pump. im jstu glad i didnt make the mistake of selling, i know i would regret it. well, thanks for listening to me ramble on about nonsense...as i said ive been really bored and thinking a lot and wanted to srae my thoughts with someone else. thanks

Sounds like a good plan Bee Jay. Fixing the breaks in the rear end would be priority one for me as far s the car goes. I am not sure but I think an IRS setup would use some different areas that might help. I know it still uses the lowers though so You would deffinately need to get them patched up.

I'm glad you decided against selling the Stang, Beej. Think about the options some more before you decide... I mean, you did do a buttload of work to it. Also, I agree with Emilio... stuff a narrowed straight axle under there. I love mine for that quick, sideways action... LOL

yeah i agree with the second option, you'll spend not even half the money that you would for a cobra and it will be just as fast if not faster then a stock cobra.

Good choice BJ.....option #2 is my favorite.

I have a set of seat from a Mid 90's Probe that are dirty.... you would need to recover them to suit your likes and such...they are comfortable though. Will give them to you if that is the way you want to go.
