CAI for my 6 Banger

What company do you recommend for a CAI for my 2000 3.8L? I just got my paycheck and I am looking for a good brand. Any suggestions?

JLT, K&N, C&L, BBK? i dont know alot about V-6 performance, hell im just scratchin the surface on the V-8s

I used to own two sixer Mustangs.

I would recommend K&N since it is CARB certified in California.

If you decide to go with another brand then ensure it is CARB certed in Cali. You can pass the sniffer test and fail the visual because of the lack of CARB sticker.

Trust me, been there done that!!

EDIT: You can get a good K&N setup through Kragen. They usually don't have them in stock but will have it delivered to their store next day at no extra cost. If they want to charge you for delivery, walk away.

Another decent mod is a UDP.

thats true, if you open up one side of the compressor you gotta do the same on the other side

heres a site that i found that might help you out if you havent already been on them. rpm has a really good V-6 faq that was really long and im sure it would be beneficial to read or skim through.

smog time comes along take 10 minutes and put your stock one on

then put the aftermarket one on when done.

well how much horsepaower difference is it between all of them? 1 or 2 hp doesnt make all that much difference. its about the efficiency of your machine. intake exhaust and some gears call it a day.
