So I have now experienced the difference a gear exchange can make. What a difference. I still have got on it yet but I can already tell it will be alot faster, even in an automatic car. Unfortunately it is overshadowed by the fact that it didnt fix my noise problem from the rearend. Its always something new with this car... So hopefully I can get back to Miramar and let Mike help me figure out the problem. Hope its something small... CWO before I forget I forgot to tell you when I first move the car in the morning or the first drive of the day I can almost feal the car bouncing in the back. Only for a couple hundred feet then it goes away. So maybe it is the axle? I honestly cant wait to just get this car running good and move on to a new project. Im tired of dealing with random leaks and stuff....

Glad to hear you like your gears... I am thinking about some 4:10 gears.

I have another question about my speedometer gear. Well first is it a cable or a gear I need to change to get my speedometer corrected? Also so far I have seen something on 50resto.com saying that if you go higher than 3.55s you have to change the transmission gear drive, is that true? Ill keep researching...

It is a gear for the speedo. It attaches to the end of the cable where it enters the transmission. As for the transmission changes, you already have a transmission cooler and you should look into changing the servo on the overdrive. I suggest upgrading to "A" and some manufactures offer an "A-Plus". Here is a link to assist you.

Thanks for the link CWO. Good info on the servo upgrade. Still trying to figure out the speedo gear thing. It only mentioned pre 1988 cars on there.
