Good News, Bad News from the Doc

Good news is he recommended NOT having surgery. The bad news is I have to lose 100 pounds, THEN have surgery. PT starts tomorrow. Weight training, the works. Anything has got to help. I can't keep eating pain meds like candy, and I'm not getting any younger. I wanna be around to meet some of you younguns' and whoop some ass.

Jim

PS Please bear with me as I quit smoking... in all seriousness.

Thanks man... life is gonna just suck for about the first month, but I know it'll be worth it. I have two daughters that I wanna live long enough to see their kids torture them like they do us.

what helped me a lot is water! drinks lots of it one it kills hunger, gives you more energy, keep you hydrated. what i do when i go to the commissary i buy 12 1 gallons jugs of water they are only 1 dollar a peice( crazy huh because like a liter bottle at a gas station is like 1.50 if not more) and i buy 12 of them to last me almost two weeks. drink one of those a day it will help a lot. yeah you pee a lot but its good for you trust me

Thanks VP... I am officially off the Dew and on the water as of this morning. I know it helps no matter what some of the experts say. I have a mini fridge right here under my desk, so when we do the grocery shopping this weekend, I'll buy a 24 pack and keep it stocked.

bad ace and wish ya luck. once or twice a day depending on how much i sweat during working out i will mix a gatorade with water to dilute it a little since it does have a lil bit of sodium. plus when i play soccer it gave me a syrup lile film in my mouth from the sugar so i diluted it and had no more problems

My wife (bless her heart) has gotten me into drinking LOTS of water every day and believe it or not, it helps shed the pounds. I was drinking TWO 2 liter bottles of soda every day and all that sodium was wreaking havoc on my system. I still have a Coke or Pepsi but usually only when we go to a resturant.

The Pacifico Beer...She will NEVER get that from me!

Good luck in your quest!

Absolutely correct! Doing it like that keeps your metabolism up. You burn more calories this way than LOADING UP three times a day.

Good advice!
