o.k so i need to know what to do. as you may know i went to the q with some of u guy's on Friday and i got murdered no traction and car was slow as hell. so the question is do i get gears, exhaust, or suspension next. or if u guys got better i idea's like limit slip diff. or any thing else under 300 il be happy to get. even when i would hit rt's of .5xx's i would get slaughtered

i still had 1 wheel peel in my 06 V6{before i bought the GT} and ran decent times. the only thing that you will notice in time difference for $300 would be gears. i would recomend 4.10's. if you didn't care about gas mileage and topspeed get 4.56s if they have them for your car

but you also have to add labor on that too

you're pretty limited with $300. With what you want to get out of your car, you will need to set your budget in the thousands. I doubt you will get much improvement, if any for $300. You will need gears, suspensions, motor (either S/C or Nos) exhaust & headers, intakes, change your T-body, tune and slicks before you will notice any improvement on the track.

welcome to the reality that is the v6 mustang. you will get slaughtered now and every time you race anything with even the simplest mods, unless you drive like an @$$ (cut them off, go in their lane, crash into them even before the race starts).

with a full bolt on v6, i coulda ran at best low 15's. and any 99+ gt kills those times, stock.

here's the cookie cutter list of mods you can do to start yourself off:

cold air intake
dual exhaust
gears + t lok
pulleys
tune

after that, work on the suspension cause any horsepower you add from here on out is USELESS unless you can properly get it to the ground. when you are finished suspension, time to work the engine. heads, cam, and intake (h/c/i) time. once you are done with that it's time to choose your power adder... do you want to start with nitrous? supercharger or turbo? once you decide, get it and start making that motor stronger again cause you want to run more than 8lbs of boost, right?

then you look back at all the money you spent, getting a mid 12 second v6... and see you could've gotten a cobra and gotten into the 10's with the same $$$. CONGRATS!

i know but i only have 300 for now, in the future i will just order a 383 long block lol and install that in my v6 if its possible. and make every one think its a v6 lol of course im going to have to spend like 20000 to that because trany drive train, and engine swap and tune and labor so it's going to be very expensive i think im going to go for a sleeper look though hehehe shhhhhh dont tell any one about my plan lol

gears would be a great start. It is the best bang for the buck that you actually feel in the seat of your pants!

Problem is gears are 160-210 depending on the gear set and installation kit is approx 90 and installation is 300... try to find a used set of gears...?

This is what you need to do. Talk to WickedStangs about getting a set of gears for your car. If your serious about racing... then go with a set of 4:30 or 4:56. You have a 6er yo have to get out of the hole and make them run you down. Try to squeeze a traction lock into your bud. if not get a set of underdrive pullys.

If it was me. I would buy 4:56 gears. Talk to Todd ( CWO ) about helping/teaching you to do the install. While you have it on lift I would weld the gears so that your not peg legged anymore. Guys weld gears in trucks back home for off roading all the time. Buy a set of underdrive pullies. This would all be in your 300$ bud.
