Avoid these guys. Brent up front who answers the phone is great but the owner is shady. They pulled my engine and lost my water pump and valve cover. Also lost an a$$ load of bolts. They did compensate me but I would avoid. Owner has a shady rep with other shops. Was a qustion about him possibly(no real proof) swaping my TKO600 tranny with one of the older ones he has lying(sp?) around. My tranny was 8 months old with about 12K on it and "suddenly" 1 and 2 gear are shot and input shaft needs replacing. Guy at the shop I brought it to stated it looked like it had well over 40k on it.

unlike your 2 cents on JBA ill agree with you on this one. i heard they are on the verge of going out of business and a couple of their guys are about to leave. i had a cut on one of my spark plug wires and they said they were cool with MSD and could order me just that wire. when they called me back they said 100 bucks for one! i could buy a new set for like 150 so i said hell no. plus they are even more expensive then JBA!

I learned the hard way. Now over at JBA. I went in there a bunch of times(JMC) to check on my car, and most of the time nobody or only 1 guy is working. I guess they have a race team or something. Unfortunately I think it is owned by a guy who races first and puts his shop second. Sure way to fail.

Some of the guys on the classic boards were mad at them for bacjordering parts they ordered for 9 months.....and they refused to refund the money....When they tried to reach the owner they were given the run around and stuff. One of the companies that made some pieces for them, stopped making the parts. That is why it was backordered, they were looking for another company to start producing the part.......

I personally have not dealt with them and that is one reason.....

Make them nervous. Dress up in a black suit like MEN IN BLACK and park across the street from them and in full view, get out of your car and walk across the street to the sidewalk in front of their shop and take a lot of photos. Walk around back and forth 2-3 times taking photos from different angles. Then pull a piece of paper from inside your jacket pocket, pretend to write something for 20-30 seconds, put the paper and pen back in your pocket and then leave. Make sure they see you and make sure you don't go on their property.

Drives 'em nuts!

I might actually buy a suit to take part in that event....

Here is the write up the guy on the classic board had.....

I ordered a hydraulic clutch kit back in January from JMC Motorsports and have yet to receive it. I've been calling and calling only to get more and more excuses as to why they haven't shipped (they blame their machine shop) but I would think that after nearly 8 months they would get a new supplier. I asked for the phone number of their supplier but they refused to give me any contact info. I've heard some rumors their supplier is or is going out of business but I haven't been able to confirm this.

I've called to cancel the order but they refuse to refund my money. They claim it to be a "custom order" yet the kit is a regular item number, and no mention is made on the website about not giving refunds.

Had I not started calling back in April, I would have never found out my kit was on backorder even. I ordered and that was the last voluntary correspondance from them.

I called this past Friday (8/15/08) and not only did they hang up on me, they basically told me I'm SOL and I'd have to keep waiting when I called back (extremely irate at this point). The sales guy's (Kevin) boss is apparently the CEO (John) and John "does not take customer calls". All I can get is an email address, and he'll decide if he wants to answer me or not. I'm about to file a claim with the BBB and my credit card company for non-delivery.

Is anyone else in the same boat with these guys?

Here is a link to the thread.....there are updates on it that make me never want to use them for anything.

I spent THOUSANDS in Mustang Auto when Gary owned it before he retired.
I bought 95% of everything I needed when I was redoing my 70 fastback. Not to thrilled about the new owners, but they're OK, I guess.
