Mach vs 07GT

Last night as i was leaving the show, a GT pulled out behind me from the Chevron right there, and paced me for a few seconds and punched it...

So when i heard him go WOT i hit it, but he had the rolling jump on me by 2 cars but i realed him in right after i shifted into 3rd and destroyed him!! Im geussing he was trying to impress his girlfriend he had in the car, and the car had new tags on it so he wanted to run his new toy.. to bad he lost!

I gave him a thumbs up at the stop sign, but i didnt see anything back, lol.

An auotmatic would make is car alot slower wouldnt it? Maybee thats why i was able to catch him so fast..?

Yeah unless its built then its like a sling shot.(Think about TJ's car devil spawn) HE didnt have anything done. So probaly stock 267-280 at wheels. They are kinda heavy compared to the Mach as well. Think about when we used to race Dustin. If you add a CAI and a tune to a 05-08 it wakes them up as well as doing exhaust. ( headers, x-pipe, axcl backs ect ) It was a stocker you raced

or maybe he just sucks at driving and he was short shifting, what is the sweet spot rpm wise for the 05+ gt's

2800RPM to 5200rpm Is where mine falls off. REV limiter is set at 5,400 So its best to get rid of it all together

I don't know about that....I have a buddy who has a 07' GT C/S that's auto and I must say that his car is no joke....all he has is some bolt ons and a 75 shot of nitros. He showed me the dyno sheet and he was pushing almost 410hp to the wheels. Even with the sheet in my face I couldn't believe him so he took me for a little ride and damn nearly took my head off. Moral of the story....Automatics aren't that bad....but I still wouldn't bye one

BeeJay he is not getting rid of his car. My sister would kill him for one. It depends on car though. I had a 90 fox with Auto it was fun to drive to a point. Wish I had it in San Diego that is for sure. I had a shift kit ect it would kick side ways going in second with M/T street slicks. Was a great car for burnouts. My son loved that car. He said his first sentence in that car. DADDY SMOKE THE TIRES!

the stock 07 mustang automatics aren't any slower then the manual, they botyh are 5 speed! but the only difference is the 3:31 gears, When i first got my mach me and my dad ran my mach and his 05 GT automatic... he would get me out of the hole (suprisingly) but after sceond i would go blasing by... stock for stock the 05-08 mustang is no race for the 03-04 mach 1. I mean the mach ways 3800 Lbs and the 05 - 078 are like 45 or 4800.... thats 1 second slower just in wieght!

just my 2 cents..

this is the reason i want a fox NOTCH 2800 Lbs. full wieght! or 3100 Lbs with a hatch!

auto and manual have nothing to do with your ET... its all in your build PLANING!!! A auto will run way more consistant then any 5 speed.. I mean shit with me in my mach at the track I got 13 runs in... only 4 of them were close to what i should be running! I agree a 5 speed is funner to drive, But i cant tell you how many races i have lost to missed ******* shifts!

I am curious what mods he had to put down over 400HP Is that with the nos or with out. Can you give me some info

Yes there isnt a guy out there that can shift as fast as a auto. I agree to that one but. I still think the new ones will give machs run for there money. They are just way to restricted. They need that tuner to help them breath. It also has alot to do with a driver as well.

I agree, it always has to do with driver, I'm just saying being that the 05-07 have a 5 speed auto helps the driver alot.. its just like a manual but you dont have to do shit but hammer the gas... personally if i ever was to buy one it would be the auto with a big stall and 4:10s

the down side of the automatic 05-07 mustang is it only comes with 3:31 gears

YEah you are right but on the other hand a set of 3:73 and you would have a fun car on your hands for sure
