Now I need assistance.

WHAT HAD HAPPEN WAS....... I had loosened my steering box on the classic and was going to pull the column so I could rustproof around behind it. I had the nut off the Drag Link connection. I was using a hammer to remove the engine mount as it was rusted in place. Well I was getting mad and put all of my 75 pounds dripping wet into a swing........yep you guessed it, a glancing blow as the engine mount broke free and the hammer continued down and hit the unprotected stud for the drag link connection to the steering box.......now the nut wont go back on. G-D D--N IT!!!!!!

Well that connector is like $150.00! Big mistake but an easy fix is still available to me on this one.

Anyone got a thread repair kit? Or Tap and Die kit? Can I borrow it PLEASE??????????THANKS GT400SC! Appreciate the hook up!

Thanks in advance.

Also, anyone got a heatgun that I could borrow for a little while? Couple weeks as I need to strip all the old undercoating and a heat gun makes it alot easier. THANKS OESTANG-2008!

If you can help me, it would be appreciated. I have very little to offer in return as I am poor......I guess sexual favors may not be out of the question though......LOL J/K!!!!

Thanks Al!

Emilio, do we have a forum for assistance needed? Or like a Want To Borrow Section? May be a good thing to add to the list of forums...

Do you know the thread size and pitch? I have a set you can borrow. I will be at Emilio's tomorrow afternoon (4pm or so) if you want, I will bring it and you can pick it up and take it home. Return it when you're done. Take your time.

I am not sure of the size it off the top of my head, it will be a trial and error type of thing......I would venture to guess it is a half inch bolt with machine threads. Other than that I am clueless as to the actual threads on it.

I could probably use a file on it also as there is only 2 jacked threads.

I will stop by tomorrow at Emilios place for the kit. It is appreciated!

I really need help with welding in the frame rails. The rest is merely cosmetic kind of stuff.....but the frame rails are structural and I dont trust my welding.....

It is gonna be awhile though.

Thanks.
