Mustang Vs World II

At Barona last night, the owner of the track, Don Julian, came up to ask me, he overheard me talking to Pete and that I was the EC for WS, if we are going to do Mustang vs World this year. I told him we are in discussion of doing it around 7/24-25 weekend. He said the weekend of 7/10-7/11, the event on 7/11 was cancelled and is now open and he will talk to his partner about giving that date to us. I told him we like to do a T&T on Friday then campout and hold the event on Saturday. He said that is an awesome idea. I gave him my email and cell and I got his info, too. We will talk again about opening up Friday 7/10 for T & T.

7/10 and 7/11 is also a good date since several of the members will be deploying later in the month, Phil and Eric, is a couple off the top of my head.

Barona wants us there and the owner came asking, so maybe we should start getting this going. Comments?

I like the idea of the camping and drag racing racing. My wife will like the camping part ,while I love the drag racing part.

Danny, if they move the event to the 11th, tell them we still want to camp on Friday night. I moved my overseas end date to the 9th so that I can make the event....IT's GOOD TO BE THE KING!!!

I emailed Don and I believed I CC to everybody. I haven't got a replied yet and I did ask about 7/10. Right now, they don't have anything schedule. I asked if a T&T date would be a possible addition for 7/10. If I don't get a reply, I'll call him next week.

I called Don and left him a message last night. Waiting for his call back. No reply from my email yet either. Let you guys know if there are any updates.

Just got off the phone with Don.

The July 11th date is out. He said that it's not available now. Don't know if the original scheduled event got put back on. Anyways, he offered June 27th but I'm thinking that's too soon. He said he will check the calendar and give me a call back tonight with dates. I told him we like to do a camp out the night before and do the event the following day. Also told him we may be expecting more then the 40 or so cars from last time because it should be better weather. We will need a date so we can post on the other forums and do a little advertising. He also asked if we would be interested in a Sunday date. Right now, I'll let you guys know what date he gives me and I'm open to Sunday's date unless you guys don't think it will work.

We can do a Saturday test and tune with a Sunday Mustang vs. The World. It would make for an awesome weekend of racing and partying!!!

All the dates are in AUG 21th and 22nd camping and racing. The 21th Test and Tune and 22nd is the Event.... I am working on the Flyer now...

Don called today and gave us August 21st and August 22nd, Fri & Sat. It will be night racing. 6-mid. I told him we like the T&T Friday and campout. There will be a Funny car event on Saturday but we will have our own lanes. I will confirm with him tomorrow because he told me 8/20 & 8/21, I think he just gave me the wrong date.

This will give us time to get the words out and get all logistics in order. Don said to let him know if we want him to help advertise. I say we go with those dates.

Yes, post on all of them. Make it a true Mustang vs The World event. Don't know about the bikes though.
