Need rental car

Well the Mach1 might take a month to get the tags from SC which is crap and the Cobra is still getting worked on in Texas. I need a rental so anyone have any hook ups of any sorta cause I might need a car for a month. I even tried to get my car registered here but they want like 1250 bucks! Not doing that for a month! It was only 280 to pay taxes on my Mach1 a month ago in South Carolina and it seems Cali wants me to pay that again. There fees for almost everything and stuff I never heard of! OUTRAGIOUS!! Anyhow...anyone know anyone or want to rent me the car you never drive! LOL -Shane

When you go to DMV to register your vehicle in CA ask for an out of state waiver for your home state. You can register in CA at the FL rate.
My CA Registration for the Shelby was to be $360 and $380 for the vert, I used the out of state waiver and got both registered (In CA) for $90.
The DMV don't tell you about this outright, look on thier website and it is there. Fill it out and take it with you to the DMV office and get your car on the road.

Thanks! I have a few different forms filled out and heading to the DMV around 1430 today. I know they will want something I dont have or might not even be able to do this. If its hundres of dollars I will just get a rental and wait for mine to arrive. -Shane

Angel said you could use the Faleen but that would be after OE looks at it some time this weekend. If he decides he wants it then that would rule it out. Also You would have to drive the car like you got some sense seeing as how we are trying to sell it. We only have liability on it as well so you wreck it you bought it.

Dont mean to sound rude but we have never beaten on the car and would like it to stay that way. It is a V-6 and I have not heard good things about how they stand up to abuse!!!!!!

Well no dice on the DMV here. Do not know how people tolerate the legal thiefs of this state. I just paid taxes on my car and they want me to pay them all over again regardless of being Military and from out of state. I'm afraid I will wait till my tags come in from SC and just hope it wont take a month.
Yosemiddysam, thank you VERY much for the offer. I do have a few guys on my ship that are looking for cars so I bet I could sell her for you. Thus leaving me without a car but I will try. I have no issues getting a rental cause I have money but just wanted to find a good deal on one thus asking for a friend of the club that might work at one or wife or what not. If you want to give me some info on the car and pics I will run them by the guys here. BTW..I'm 36 and would never beat up on anothers car but you have ever rite to enforce the rules on your property. -Shane

Well what better way to sell it then by showing it to them. She gave the ok and that was her car so It is up to you. We do not want money from using it. I only ask that you take care of it. Like I mentioned before though I told OE that he could look at it when he picks up the rims and he will give me a price. I will not go lower than 5 for the car. I paid 7,200.00 a year ago for it but the wife racked up some miles on it lol. Just give her a call at 858 822 8657.

Thank you very much. By chance does it have stickers for base? If so I will just wait till OE takes a look and if not then great. Will show her around to the guys here.-Shane

HA HA...had some E5 tonight tell me the stickers on my old Caddy were faded and peeling at the edges. Friend that bought her took me to the DMV. She said..they were "UNSAT" and I cringed! AUGH! She must be a local!!!

Look in the base phone book for a DMV Rep on base, I know North Island has one. For a 15 dollar fee they take care of all of the paperwork. Maybe they know how to get your fee knocked down.

If you need a ride to North Island, give me a heads up, I should be free next week to give you a lift.

You can coordinate with angel. If she knows when he will be there and you can have the car there when he gets there I dont care when you pick it up!!!!

I told her to stop driving it and get used to her new car because they are two entirely different animals and I want her to only have muscle memory for one. So basically the car is just setting there looking pretty.
