Quit Dipping

so, i quit dipping the other day. (chewing tobacco for those who dont know) its kinda a weird story how it happened. i had planned on quitting for awhile, but i wanted to wait til i ran out, but the other day i got really sick. there was something going around this boat that almost got everyone. i had body aches worse than ive ever felt, i was sweating and freezing...you know how it is. then i found out i had PT the next day so i took extreme measures. im not a religous person but i prayed to get better. i said if i was good enough to PT tomorrow i would never dip again, and what do ya know...20 hours in bed and i felt like a new man.

now the hard part...i am about to choke everyone that talks to me, and i get mad at the dumbest things. the worst part about it is i know i am being unreasonable and i either dont care or cant help it.

to everyone that has quit before me....YOUR THE MAN...this **** is hard

Well never did dip, but have tried to quit smoking and the same thing happened.......was grumpy and on edge....for a couple days then just having the smoke around me I would want to smoke.....toughest damn thing to do......QUIT TOBACCO.

I agree "You the man" for those that have quit.....

Maybe we should have an anti tobacco day or week for people on here to quit together.....LOL

Nicotine cravings go away after 4 days. It's the other factors that make it hard to quit. Like having to have something in your mouth. Being on a boat full of men that should be easy.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

haha.....a few minutes ago i was doing an MCI (like a self paced class) on leadership and i got so pissed off that there were so many boot ass CPL's in the marine corps i had to get up and go walk around for a minute. i got this can of dip thats burning a hole in my pocket, and no sunflower seeds to keep my mouth busy. this is hell!

Don't be weak! Stay the course! I'm sure your kids don't want a Dad missing his lower jaw by the time he's 40. I could show you some 21-22 yr olds missing pieces of their face from dipping or getting gum cancer at your age would be fun too! Do it for your kids and quit!!!!!!

oh, believe me i will stay the course....i am done for good, but this **** really sucks. i wand to choke the life from someones body for no reason at all...dont know why. the wifes worried about that mouth cancer thing, and she told me i could buy a new car if i quit. thats enough motivation for me....this misery will be worth it.

One thing that helped me was chewing gum. Like Orange said the nicotine is gone after 4 days but its just the thought of having something in your mouth that is the hard habbit to break. Try some gum. But good luck man. Im rooting for you because i am also trying to quit
