Got this in the email today. Emilio, what you think. Something the club should be involved with?

Join us at Bayside Park March 28th for the sweetest car show in town.

RaceLegal and the City of Chula Vista are joining forces for a fundraising car show to help our new racing season that starts in April. The Fast & Furious 4 is supporting our efforts by promoting their movie début April 3rd at theatres near you.

This event is not an official club event yet. This is just an FYI. It will be discussed at the next board meeting. It will be posted on the calendar with additional info if this event will go.

Wondering where I am!?!?
EDIT:

It's 40 bucks to show, kinda steep in my opinion!

Got that info off of the RaceLegal Website

The high price is to help fund the racing. Well, that's what they say.

And in MY opinion, if they hadn't misspent grant money, they wouldn't be clammering for cash. But that's just MY opinion.

I would like to see a decade's worth of audits before I spend that kind of money to let people LOOK at my car!

I agree, but what is done is done. But this can really help with good support for our club if we show up in large scales show how we are very dedicated towards support street-racing alternatives for ricers (who won't go to barona because they're dumb) People see. Oh wow, lots of WS members are really pushing for the Race Legal event to keep going, they are a good bunch of people who support legal racing. Just my opinion, it's not that large since I don't have a stang yet...

I personaly think that we should make a effort to help them out but then again when i e-mailed them about the club maybe helping out with one of the races so we could all run for free at then next but I never heard crap so...

You guys realize this is the same as bailing out a bank or company after they allegedly misspent money.

I don't hear anyone saying about AIG, "What's done is done".

Did you ever think maybe some organizations don't DESERVE support until they get their act straight?

We are getting off track here. This event will be up for discussion at the next board meeting on whether we participate as a club or not. If anyone wants to participate as an individual, please do. Just remember, if you have a banner on your car, regardless if this is a club event or not, people don't care and your action will reflect on the club.

Racelegal event and whether we should go or not, supporting comments for each side.

Right on target!

I will remember to scrape the sticker before helping them out.

Just kidding Emilio

Maybe WS should talk to qualcomm and take over racelegal under a different name. Then show them how to run it right.

RL just rents the parking lot, like the swap meet, RV show, autocross, or Jr. Dragsters. Anybody with a set of lights, a checkbook, and the right insurance can run a drag race there.

If you're serious about running your own events, I suggest you get in touch with Team Possibilities (http://www.teampossibilities.com/jrdraghome.html) and see if they would be interested in helping you with the lights and insurance part.

HMMMM sounds intresting. We could get the guys at Barona to prep the track. It would cost alot of money though... better to just rent barona. That is why I asked Lydia before about us helping out with everything and premoting a race but I got no response so
