hey guys i was looking around and i was trying to find out what size rearend was in my 2006 gt. im looking this up so i can try to put a new set of gears in it im thinking 3:73 or something along thouse lines anyone help ???

i was thinking 4:10s but i like gas milage hahah and i currently have 3:31's i can see thouse and all gt's came with the 8.8

I am not too knowledgeable on that, but from what I observed of gear install, they recommends new bearings. But since you have an '06 and under 60k miles (assuming), that may not be necessary. You will need gear lubricants.

Someone more knowledgeable at this, please confirm if this is correct. Don't want to give bad info.

i run valvoline oil and stuff like that i have never had a probliem with it and when we raplaced the axel in my dads 78 f150 we used valvoline it wored great come to mention it i have removed gears before just not on a modern vehical hahahha

3;73 and 4:10s will not be that much different in MPG... but its your car... and ask phil i beilieve there is a difference in the 8.8 of the 05 and up

i dont care for the new body style mustang so on the difference of the rear ends i have no idea, never done any of the research
