hey all im doing the 5 lug conv on my 83 and i have a chance to get a 94 8.8 rear form my junkyard for $80 and was told that the 94-98 GT and Cobras 8.8 will bolt right up is this true

Yes, but it will have disc brakes. Not sure if the drum brakes you probably have will work. If all you want are the 5 lug axles they will fit and you don't need the rest of the rear end.

i was going to use the disc brakes too that away the car have dics brakes and all was going to get the master cyl and the brake lines too from the car i can get the it all for $150

I think that's a pretty good price for everything.

Then go for it! The 8.8 will bolt right up. The axles are 1/2" longer on each side.

just to let you know the 94 and new rear axles are and rear ends are 1/2 of an inch wider on both sides.. so if you are going to be running wheels that might rub... these are not the axles you want...
