i have a SCT SF3 tuner but its locked to my V6. anyone know where i can get it unlocked?

2 ways you can unlock it:
1. return your v6 back to stock with the tuner.
2. send it to sct to get it unlocked, but you'll have to pay for it.

JBA will unlock your tuner for 49 bucks. i just got it done.

with the 3.73's i have on the v6 the speedometer reads wrong without a tune.

being in that location does pose an issue. but driving down may still be cheaper than sending it back to SCT for 150 bucks.

you will loss your stock tune for good for them to unlock it... and i know a new computer will be alot for that car

as far as i understand a "stock tune" is whatever is saved on the ecu if you retune so thats the tune that would be on the tuner if it was changed with a new tuner. the tuner doesn't look at a modified tune and go " Oh this isn't stock " it just saves what is saved and replaces the modified tune with whatever is next.

yes i know that.. but the stock tune is nice to have... thats why its saved to the handheld

Will that same tuner for the s197 V6 work on and SN95 GT? I doubt it. I know DiabloSport is year and model specific.

when you use the sct tuner ignore the canned tunes. I dont know what car they " dyno tested and proved " these tunes for but it isn't for a 98 gt on cali 91 oct thats for damn sure.

SCT always tunes for 93... all you have to do is pull 4 to 5 degrees of timing or pull a a degrees at a time, til the ping goes away
